Zapatango™ welcomes you to the world of hand-made Ladies and Gents Tango Shoes.  Below are the essential terms and conditions we trade under.  If you have any questions, please write to us.

It is important for you to understand we do NOT provide a "Made to Measure" service.
** Once you have Danced in a pair of shoes, we cannot accept them back unless faulty. **

Online Orders: Because each pair of shoes are hand-made to order following a fitting consultation, we do not sell or take orders via the internet as we need to spend time with each person to try to ensure a "best-fit" shoe size, width and style are ordered.

Order Confirmations:  We will write to you within 7 days asking you to confirm the information we gathered is correct.  You can cancel your order at this point or accept it knowing the order cannot be cancelled or changed after this time.

Pricing:  We have a fixed price for standard shoe sizes Ladies 34-40 and Gents 38-44 in either standard or wider (except Mens 44 wide) fittings.  Some special leathers now carry an extra charge.  If you need something different, having assessed your requirement, we will speak to the workshop to determine if they will make it and at what additional charge for the special order (see below).  Once the additional charge has been determined, you will be able to confirm or cancel any order placed.

Deposits: are required at the time you place an order with the balance due when the shoes arrive.  Special Orders require full payment at time of order.

Payment: we do accept credit/debit cards with a fee payable at the time of payment but we do not accept PayPal at this time.  Note: We cannot accept card payments over the phone.

Special Order shoes: cannot be cancelled once the order has been placed with the workshop and you must pay the full amount unless there is a manufacturing fault.

Unwanted Orders:  a £10 handling and administration fee (£15 from 1st March 2017) will be charged for putting unwanted shoes in to stock.  At our sole discretion, we may agree to try to sell them on your behalf with a £10 handling fee being deducted from the selling price.  We do not guarantee to sell your shoes.  We will try to recover the full retail price for a period of 3 months after which we will either arrange to get the shoes to you or agree with you a reduced sale price for a further 3 months.  If the shoes have not been sold within 6 months they become your responsibility. You will be liable for postage and packing if we have to send the shoes back to you.
** Once you have Danced in a pair of shoes, we cannot accept them back unless faulty. **

Delivery: we will place orders with the workshop periodically to build up an order of sufficient quantity to balance shipping costs.   If you want your shoes urgently, we can arrange special shipping at your expense which will be advised in advance of dispatch.  The normal order to delivery cycle is approximately 8 weeks but may be longer if the shipment is held up in Customs. You should arrange collection within 30 days of being advised ordered shoes are ready.

UK Shipping: charges will be your responsibility as we will normally try to meet you at a tango dance venue to ensure your new shoes fit you.  If we agree to ship shoes to you, they will be sent "signed-for" next day delivery by Royal Mail and insured for their retail value.  Note, there will be a minimum cost of £10.00 p&p per shipment.

Changes and Cancellations: will not be accepted after you have confirmed the specifications of your order in writing or via email.

Faults: we will check every pair of shoes before we notify you they have arrived.  If there is a manufacturing error, a new pair will be ordered to replace the faulty pair with special notice of corrections required.

Fault Reporting: if a fault is found after delivery, please write to us within 14 days by email providing contact details for yourself, a summary of the problem and photos if appropriate as soon as you discover a fault.  Please do not wear the shoes as this will make them unsalable and could invalidate the warranty.  We will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the problem and where possible arrange a meeting or have the shoes returned to us.

Returns:  You are responsible for the postage.  You MUST complete any return within 14 days unless we agree otherwise.  Returns after this period will not be accepted.  The shoes should be protectively packaged to ensure they do not suffer damange in transit.

Refunds: will not be provided unless we are unable to replace faulty shoes.

Materials and Colours: natural materials can vary in texture and colour between manufacturing batches and therefore you must accept there could be texture and/or colour variance from the samples displayed when making your choice.

Fit for Purpose: while every effort is made to produce a high quality shoe, it must be recognised and accepted, the purpose of these shoes is to dance indoors on normal dance surfaces made of wood, linoleum or smooth tiles. They are not intended for outdoor walking or dancing or use on rough or uneven surfaces and any such use will invalidate any warranty express or implied.

Looking after your shoes:  The sole of the shoes should be kept dry.  Be extra careful at venues where kitchen floors and toilets are likely to have water spillages.  Damage from water ingress to the sole of a shoe is not covered by any warranty.
